The Faculty of Law is Hong Kong’s leading law school. It has a cherished heritage, is ranked among the best law faculties in the world and is highly regarded for providing quality legal education and lifelong-learning opportunities. The Faculty has achieved its position within the top 20 best Law Faculties in the world for four consecutive years in the 2015 QS University World Rankings.

Building on its strong tradition of teaching, research in the common law and prominent links with the professional community, the Faculty, a regional centre of excellence in China and the Asia-Pacific region, aspires to be a world-class law school that meets the highest standards of international excellence in every dimension, and to be recognised as one of a handful of the best law schools internationally.

The Faculty, is presently organized into two departments, the Department of Law and the Department of Professional Legal Education, and employs more than 80 full-time teachers from more than 17 jurisdictions around the world. In September 2015 the Faculty had about 840 undergraduates studying for LLB degree and double degrees, 414 PCLL students, 75 JD students and about 463 full-time and part-time postgraduate students.
