Programme Structure and Requirements

A BBA (Law) student is normally required to complete 195 credits of courses within a period of 3 academic years, which comprise 87 credits of law courses, 90 credits of business courses, and 18 credits of language, IT and broadening courses. The programme structure is as follows:

Year One (66 credits)

Business courses (36 credits):
  • Introduction to accounting (6 credits)
  • Introduction to management information systems (6 credits)
  • Core courses (12 credits)
  • Introduction to economics (6 credits)
  • Business statistics OR Probability and statistics (6 credits)
Law courses (18 credits):
  • Law and society (6 credits)
  • The legal system (6 credits)
  • Legal research and writing I and II (6 credits)
Other courses (12 credits):
  • Practical Chinese language course for law students (3 credits)
  • Critical thinking and logic (6 credits)
  • English for academic communication for business students (3 credits)

Year Two (66 credits)

Business courses (24 credits):
  • Core courses (6 credits)
  • Intermediate accounting I (6 credits)
  • Intermediate accounting II/Electives (6 credits)
  • Management accounting (6 credits)
Law courses (33 credits):
  • Law of contract I and II (12 credits)
  • Law of tort I and II (12 credits)
  • Legal research and writing III (3 credits)
  • Land law I and II (6 credits)

Year Three (63 credits)
