About the Programme

The BSocSc (Govt & Laws) degree is designed to enable students to take a mixture of law and social sciences courses, the latter being mainly from the Department of Politics and Public Administration, so as to offer a broader education as well as greater flexibility in career choice and development to its graduates, including those in the Government, in politics, journalism and law.

Students who obtain the BSocSc (Govt & Laws) degree after three years of study may, if they so wish, undertake two more years (4th and 5th) of study in the Faculty of Law for the LLB degree in conjunction with the BSocSc (Govt & Laws), in which students are required to complete 111 credits of law courses and 12 credits of politics and public administration courses. After completion of the 4th year LLB programme, they may apply for admission to the one-year PCLL programme.
