Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson has been with the Faculty since 1984, and specializes in criminal law and procedure, cybercrime, and privacy and data protection law.  Representative publications include Criminal Law in (Hong Kong; HKU Press, 2003), "Law Enforcement in Cyberspace : The HK Approach", in Broadhurst & Grabosky, Cybercrime : The Challenge in Asia (HKU Press, HK 2005), Chapters 17, “Principals and Secondary Parties", and 18, "Strict Liability", in Archbold HK: Criminal Pleading & Practice (Sweet & Maxwell), and Chapter 21, “Right to Privacy, Unlawful Search and Surveillance” in Chan & Lim, Law of the Hong Kong Constitution (Sweet & Maxwell, 2011).  His recent research includes cybercrime in HK, the regulation of covert surveillance, and the regulation of privacy in public places.
