Professor Andrew Harding
Professor Andrew Harding is with the Faculty this term, for the third time, as a Visiting Professor, teaching Law, Governance and Development in Asia. He is Visiting Research Professor at the National University of Singapore, as well as the holder of a number of visiting positions elsewhere. He specialises in constitutional law with special reference to Southeast Asia, and has written extensively on Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar. He also contributes to law and development studies with reference to Asia, as well as comparative legal systems of Asia. He is a former Director of the Centre for Asian Legal Studies at NUS, a former Director of the Asian Law Institute, a former Head of School at SOAS Law School, University of London, and a former holder of the Chair in Asia-Pacific Legal Relations at the University of Victoria, BC, Canada. His latest book is Thai Legal History: From Traditional to Modern Law, edited with Dr Munin Pongsapan, which is forthcoming (June, 2021) with Cambridge University Press.
