I was most\u00a0fortunate to have been taught by him on International Trade Law during his Deanship in 1989 -1990. My keen interest in Chinese law and international business and trade law was\u00a0nurtured by Professor Rhodes, who inspired me to qualify into the legal practice of commercial law and banking law. Professor Rhodes\u2019 foresight into the significance of Hong Kong-trained\u00a0lawyers for the continued success of the\u00a0Mainland subsequently paved the way for my pursuit of dual-legal qualification in Hong Kong and the Mainland. I still remember how patient and generous he was in sharing his time and knowledge with students. Hong Kong\u2019s legal education would not be so acclaimed without his remarkable\u00a0contributions. Professor Rhodes will always be dearly remembered.
