Mr. Herbert Aclan Loja currently reads the Doctor of Philosophy (Public International Law) under the supervision of Professor Simon N.M. Young at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) – Faculty of Law. He earned his Master of Laws in Human Rights with Distinction degree at HKU in 2013 on a Söhmen Human Rights Scholarships for 2012/13 and received the Anna Wu Prize in Human Rights for most outstanding academic performance and the Winston Chu & Company Prize in Law for best dissertation.  He was a graduate research trainee under the supervision of Professor Brian F. Havel at the Institute of Air & Space Law at McGill University - Faculty of Law. His published articles appear in the Journal of Territorial and Maritime Studies, Asia-Pacific Journal on Human Rights and the Law, Hong Kong Journal of Legal Studies, and Ateneo Law Journal and his first blog at the HKU Legal Scholarship Blog.
