Speaker:
Simon Mui is the founder of CLECSS (China Legal Education and Career Seminar Series), which is currently one of the largest and most influential networks for legal professionals in China. Over the past two decades, Simon has become a recognized voice in the legal community, publishing numerous articles and presenting at seminars on topics related to the legal market, practice, career paths, and education.
His career includes significant roles as General Counsel for a Hong Kong-listed solar energy company and a hedge fund. Prior to this, Simon honed his expertise in capital markets and corporate finance at prestigious international law firms such as Baker & McKenzie, Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson, and Debevoise & Plimpton.
Simon holds an LLB and PCLL from The University of Hong Kong, alongside an LLM and JD from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was the first Chinese recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award. He furthered his education with a Master of Science in Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Currently, he serves as an executive committee member of the Stanford Club of Hong Kong and is a part-time lecturer in the PCLL program at The University of Hong Kong, sharing his expertise and insights with the next generation of legal professionals. In addition, he is the Vice-Chair of the Committee for Members with Mainland Background (MMBC) of The Law Society of Hong Kong and is recognized as an arbitrator listed on the panel of Shenzhen International Court of Arbitration (SCIA) and the South China International Arbitration Center (HK) (SCIAHK).
