 PROGRAMME INFORMATION

This programme is open to students in the single LLB programme, with a maximum annual intake of three.  Students will spend the first three years at HKU for their LLB studies and proceed to KCL for the fourth year to undertake the LLM degree.

Upon completing all course requirements at both HKU and KCL, students will be awarded an LLB degree from HKU and an LLM degree from KCL.  The curriculum structure is as follows:

ELIGIBILITY

  • Third-year students in the single LLB programme with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 at the time of application. Nominees must also maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.50 at the end of the semester before departure; and
  • Completion of a summer programme offered by HKU (in law or non-law subjects) during the summer semester between the first and second years of study.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Interested applicants should submit the following documents directly to the Faculty of Law Outgoing Exchange Team at  by 5:00 PM HKT, 30 January 2026 (Friday): 

  • A Personal Statementof no more than 750 words, outlining the qualities, experiences, or achievements that distinguish you from other candidates, and/or any other information relevant to your application, such as highlights of your non-academic achievements. The statement should include your full name, university number, curriculum, and year of study; and
  • A copy of your academic transcript(s).

TUITION FEES

Students will pay tuition fees only to the institution at which they are studying at.  In other words, outgoing HKU students will pay HKU tuition fees for the first three years (HKU LLB degree) and KCL tuition fees for the fourth year (KCL LLM degree).
