About the Speakers:

Kenneth Cloke
In 1980s, Sidney Rittenberg – Mao Zedong’s translator – invited Kenneth Cloke and his wife Joan Goldsmith to teach mediation to 100+ senior Chinese officials accross provinces and at Peking University. Forty years later, Cloke, a founder of the U.S. mediation movement and an internationally recognized leader in conflict resolution, returns to China to share his life’s work. He has authored 20+ mediation books, including the world acclaimed Mediating Dangerously and The Dance of Opposites, and has mediated in 30+ countries, addressing conflicts such as Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Palestine, and Ireland-England. He co-founded Mediators Beyond Borders International and is an adjunct professor at Pepperdine Law, formerly with Harvard’s Program on Negotiation.

 

Mylene Chan
She is a registered foreign lawyer at Charles Wilson LLP. A Senior Consultant to CCPIT Mediation Center Greater Bay Area, UNCITRAL Observer, Visiting Lecturer at Peking University School of Transnational Law and Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School, as well as Research Fellow at China University of Political Science and Law Arbitration Research Center and Senior Fellow at Mediators Beyond Borders International (Washington DC). With 20+ years of legal and mediation experience, she previously served as an Attorney Adviser at US Securities and Exchange Commission and Legal Counsel at international law firms and listed companies. She holds a Diploma from Juilliard School of Music, a B.A. from Yale, J.D. from George Washington Law School, certificates from Harvard Law School PON, and an LL.M. from Pepperdine Law in Dispute Resolution.
