Abstract:

This talk will provide an introduction to the “Belt & Road Initiative” and look into Dubai’s role within this framework. It will offer a comprehensive overview of Dubai’s dynamic business environment and its intricate legal and regulatory landscape. Key areas of focus will include investment regulations, labour laws, potential business opportunities, and the associated compliance challenges. The seminar will also cover intellectual property protection, consumer protection and data privacy laws. Additionally, the talk will touch on cultural considerations and business practices that are unique to Dubai.

 

Speaker

Amelia Lo Esq. graduated from The University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law and completed the Master of Business Administration at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Master of Public Health at Harvard University. She has worked in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Washington D.C., Dubai and Rome, Italy for a range of clients including Fortune 100 companies and international organizations.

 

Amelia has international legal experience and holds law practice licenses in New York State, Washington D.C., England & Wales, Hong Kong and China’s Greater Bay Area.
