Biography
Gary Meggitt於1993年在英格蘭和威爾士獲得律師資格,並在英國幾家領先的律師事務所工作了12年。他還獲得了英格蘭和威爾士的大律師資格。
2000年至2007年,他在倫敦BPP法學院任教。 Gary Meggitt還擔任BPP專業發展總監,負責其專業技能課程,並擔任倫敦BPP法學院全日制大律職業課程的課程總監。
Gary Meggitt於2007年加入法律專業學系,教授民事訴訟、商業糾紛解決和專業實踐與管理,他也是法學專業證書課程的協調員。他還在法律專業學系的法學碩士和法律碩士課程中教授保險法。
Gary Meggitt撰寫了大量關於民事訴訟、仲裁及排解爭端法 (ADR)、律師專業操守和保險相關主題的文章。他是《A Guide to Civil Procedure in Hong Kong香港民事訴訟指南》(Sixth Edition, LexisNexis, 2017)、《The Professional Conduct of Lawyers in Hong Kong》(Wilkinson, LexisNexis, 2019)、《Mediation and ADR Confidentiality in Hong Kong》(Wildy、Simmonds & Hill Publishing,2019 )、《Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong》(章節:Limitation of Actions )(LexisNexis,2015 )的作者和《Civil Justice Reform – What has it achieved?》(Sweet & Maxwell, 2010)的總編輯。
2015-2019年Gary Meggitt為亞洲國際金融法研究院總監,2009-2012年為法律專業學系副系主任。
Gary Meggitt是香港律師會保險法委員會的成員。他還擔任海外律師資格考試 (OLQE) (科目四:帳目及專業操守)召集人。此外,Gary Meggitt 是香港保險業監管局未來專責小組的成員。
