簡介
Syren Johnstone早年在年利達律師事務所(倫敦、東京和香港)及在 Mori Hamada & Matsumoto(東京)私人執業,其後他擔任了很多高級管理職務 (包括在 Banco Santander 擔任法律與合規和法國興業銀行交易管理的亞洲區域主管) 。他在香港證券及期貨事務監察委員會(證監會)獲得執照,擔任股權企業融資的負責人員和香港聯合交易所的負責人。
他是亞洲國際金融法研究院院士、香港證券及投資學會 (HKSI) 證券及期貨中介人執業資格考試、證監會認可的行業基準考試的顧問和考官,以及證監會金融科技諮詢小組成員 (2016-2021)。
作為香港大學的教育家,他指導法學碩士〔合規和監管〕課程的學員,教授的課程涵蓋證券監管、上市公司和行業合規問題、新金融技術的影響以及企業融資(包括併購)。
他在公認的學術期刊上發表了大量文章。他是《Rethinking the Regulation of Cryptoassets: Cryptographic Consensus Technology and the New Prospect》(E. Elgar 2021)的作者,並與牛津大學出版社合著了《Financial Markets in Hong Kong: Law and Practice》(2016 年第 2 版),被視為該領域的權威出版物。他的學術著作曾被香港立法會和上訴法庭引用。
