Ms. Chang was a Corporate Finance lawyer at Reed Smith Richards Butler and subsequently the Professional Support Lawyer & Training Manager at Slaughter and May.  She is also a lecturer at HKU and teaches the PCLL Listed Companies elective small group sessions.

One-on-One Counseling Sessions

Ms. Chang is available for individualized careers consultations if you wish to discuss career planning, options or any problems you have encountered in your career pursuit on a more personal level.  The career consultations can also be used as resume and cover letter writing support sessions or mock interview sessions to polish up your soft skills.

If you need to make an appointment with Ms. Chang, please book your appointment directly through Career Services on Moodle.

One-on-one counseling sessions will be available at the following times:

  • Tuesday: 1:30pm – 3:30pm
  • Wednesday: 2:50pm – 5:30pm
  • Thursday: 1:30pm – 3:30pm

Available slots will be released for up to 2 weeks at a time. You will receive email notifications when the upcoming slots are released.  Each session will be 20 min for 1 student only.  In order to give students a fair chance of booking the counseling sessions, you may not book back-to-back sessions but you are free to book repeat sessions after having attended a session.

Recruitment and Networking Events

There will be career talks by law firms and other organizations throughout the year, the majority of which will take place between September and November.  This is a good opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with what a law firm specializes in and how interns and trainees will be involved and expected to perform during their employment with the firm.  Some law firms will host more informal events such as cocktail reception, drinks gathering and open house events which are also valuable avenues for you to mingle with members of the firm and to understand more about the firm’s culture.  You are strongly encouraged to attend career talks and networking events by law firms.  These events will be announced by way of email notifications and on-campus advertisements.  You may wish to follow the HKU Law Careers Resource Centre on Facebook to receive the latest information.
