The University of Hong Kong Theses Online

The Hong Kong University Theses Collection holds 14,749 titles of theses and dissertations submitted for higher degrees to the University of Hong Kong since 1941. It collects works in the arts, humanities, education and the social, medical and natural sciences. The collection is primarily in English, with some in English and Chinese, and others in Chinese only. Missing ones might be located in HKU departmental libraries. HKUTO now includes 7,572 fulltext electronic theses.

Financial Assistance

Postgraduate Scholarships are allocated by the University Grants Committee (UGC) through the University to provide financial assistance to selected research postgraduates.

Who is eligible
The purpose of Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS) is to provide selected students with financial assistance in the form of a scholarship to study full-time for the degrees of MPhil, SJD or PhD during the prescribed periods of study. Full-time MPhil and PhD students who hold a first degree with second-class honours first division (or equivalent) or above are normally considered eligible to receive a Postgraduate Scholarship during the normative study period.

Duties and responsibilities
Postgraduate Scholarship holder may be required to undertake, under supervision, duties as prescribed by the Faculty. The amount of such work shall not exceed 150 hours each year. The undertaking of this work forms a part of the Scholarship contract covered by the value of the Scholarship, and no extra payment for these hours of work may be made to a Scholarship holder.

Amount of Scholarship
The basic PGS amount is presently (for the 2023-2024 academic year) HK$18,390 per month, subject to revision from time to time.
