We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Des Voeux Chambers Oxford-HKU Visiting Fellowship by Des Voeux Chambers (DVC) to foster academic and intellectual exchange between the HKU and Oxford Law Faculties. A Fellowship award will be made each year for an Oxford Law Faculty member to visit HKU for 1 month at the start of the academic year. The Fellowship, which is fully funded by DVC, includes a stipend and covers all necessary expenses for the visit.

In Fall 2015 we welcomed Stefan Enchelmaier, Professor of European and Comparative Law of Oxford University, as the inaugural DVC Oxford-HKU Fellow. Professor Enchelmaier participated in a wide range of academic activities at HKU during his visit, including giving lectures/presentations on company law, insolvency law and competition law and discussing research with colleagues. He started a research project with Kelvin Kwok, who is a member of both the HKU Law Faculty and DVC, on intellectual property and PRC competition law. As Professor Enchelmaier says, “I had numerous wide-ranging discussions on legal and other topics with faculty colleagues and with Oxford law alumni, and I got to enjoy the generous hospitality of Des Voeux Chambers. My month at HKU was an unforgettable experience all round.”
