Puspa POKHAREL

Puspa Pokharel was a human rights lawyer in Nepal. Before coming to HKU, she was the Director of National Law College and the Director of Civil Law and Human Rights Research Centre ( CLHRCC) in Nepal. Puspa has been actively involved in the field of human rights since 2010 via several human rights organizations in Nepal. As the director of CLHRCC, since 2018 she had been running advocacy programs, campaigns, community outreach programs, research projects specially targeting vulnerable groups, namely children and women. Human Rights Activism is something that Puspa has always been passionate about. Pursuing her passion, in 2012 she graduated with honors in Master of Laws ( LL.M) on International Human Rights from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, Chicago, USA.

Puspa Pokharel was also an academician in the field of International Human Rights at several educational institutions in Nepal. She taught human rights to the law students, foreign ministry officials and armed police forces in Nepal. Her theoretical knowledge in the area of human rights is profoundly backed by her practical experiences in the field.
