Aokai YANG
Aokai Yang is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law, The University of Hong Kong, supervised by Professor Xin He. Working across legal anthropology and Law & Society, he is writing an ethnography of Beijing’s petitioning ecosystem, focusing on the brokers and street-level bureaucrats who shape petitioners’ encounters with the state. Aokai holds an LLB and an LLM from China University of Political Science and Law and an MSc in Law and Society from Leiden University.
