Yinan ZHOU

Zhou Yinan holds an LL.B. from Zhejiang University and an LL.M. from Peking University, where she focused on Labor Law and Social Law. Her interest in how law operates in practice and how people experience and engage with it led her to pursue further research in law and society.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of the sociology of legal professions, law and organizations, and legal consciousness. Broadly, she is interested in how actors in different social and institutional positions understand, experience, and engage with the law. Drawing primarily on qualitative methods, her research examines the everyday practices of legal professionals and ordinary people’s interactions with legal institutions, with particular attention to organizational dynamics and gender.
